I've been in the moving business for nearly 20 years. I never expected this industry to be so interesting. Frequently I get asked, "What is the strangest thing you have ever had to move?" I spent some time thinking about this and came up with the top 5 strangest things we have moved. Hope you find it interesting. ![]() ,1. We moved a World War II motorcycle with a side car that had a machine gun mounted to it. Our customer was a collector of interesting historical items. We have moved motorcycles before but never anything like this. This item was more awesome than strange. ![]() 2. We moved an elderly gentlemen with a broken leg down a flight of stairs, so he could go to the doctor. Several years ago we had this request from a repeat customer because he couldn't get down the stairs on his own. It was a bit strange, but we were glad to help. ![]() 3. We moved 30 large cactus plants for a woman relocating from Nebraska to California. We had to learn the hard way that there is no good way to move several 6 foot cactus plants. It was strange and painful. ![]() 4. We moved an original oil painting from the 1700's worth more than $30,000!! The painting was owned by the estate of a former U.S. Senator. Their kids hired us to move it from Nebraska to Washington D.C. I have never been so glad to deliver an item unharmed. It wasn't really that strange just really expensive. ![]() 5. One time we moved an urn with actual remains in it. We were very careful, but it was strange. |
